“This is why remote work has become so popular,” Berkowitz said. “People are willing to pay more for the convenience of having a remote worker.”
Workplace.com surveyed 1,000 companies and found that the average hourly rate for a remote worker is $25, compared with $31 for an in-office worker. The average salary for a remote worker is $42,500, compared with $50,000 for an in-office worker.
“Companies that allow their employees to work remotely are more than twice as likely to be profitable than companies that require their employees to be on site,” Workplace.com said.
