Some of the fastest-expected growth will occur in the health healthcare healthcare support construction and personal care industries. Together, these four occupational groups are expected to account for more than 5.3 million new jobs by 2022, about one-third of the total employment growth. Occupational groups with the largest projected job growth include personal care (2.4 million new jobs); health care support (1.9 million); construction (1.6 million); and manufacturing (1.3 million).

Occupational groups with the largest projected job losses include real estate and rental and leasing (1.1 million); information (926,000); and wholesale and retail trade (845,000).
The projected growth of the healthcare support occupations reflects the fact that healthcare jobs are projected to grow faster than national employment by 1.6 million new jobs between 2014 and 2022.
